Advocate Namrata Mishra has dedicated her life for the cause of child sexual abuse, it’s prevention along with women rights and prevention of women harassment.

Namrata, a corporate lawyer was practising in Mumbai and USA, decided to quit corporate law and work for the sensitisation of masses and awareness of children & women about their rights. For the last 12 years,  she has been conducting awareness programs and legal literacy workshops for children & women across the country in association with Government Departments like India Post, UP Police, Indian Army, several NGO’s and also training providers. Her workshops have reached over 400,000 kids till date, primarily in rural and semi-urban areas including tier 3 and 4 towns. She has been invited to train in over 100 schools across the country as a POSCO expert and has drafted Child Protection Policies for many of the top rated schools in India.

Her forte is age appropriate programs in both Hindi and English and cover a range of topics from Good Touch, Bad Touch to Cyber Bullying to POCSO awareness, Gender Equality and Prevention to be taken by Schools and their staff to ensure that cases of child abuse are minimised.  She has customised an online POSH course in association with an American Legal Firm for Indian corporates and the course has been taken by over 100,000 Indian corporate workforce. She practices in various courts, is chairperson of various ICC committees of listed companies, represents aggrieved kids in POSCO courts as a pro-bono lawyer and counsels kids and women as an extension of her service to the nation.

She was the only Indian at the 30th United Nations convention commemorating 30 years of the Convention of the Rights of Child which was held in Israel and has contributed a chapter on POSCO in the book, ‘Global Reflections on Children’s Rights and the Law‘ which has been published by Routledge. Her articles have also been published in the International Bar Association website amongst others. She is a recipient of the “Karamveer Award” by Rex Foundation in association with United Nation and is also a Global Goodwill Ambassador. She has also received my letters of appreciation from various institutes and government departments for her work.
